With our research we aim for a better understanding of the interdependent relationships between spatial, structural, economic, social and natural factors as well as for innovative ways of shaping them in the future – always keeping sustainability in mind.
Our methods include surveys, modelling – especially transport models, transport flow models, and models describing effects of transport –, impact assessment, follow-up analyses, compatibility checks, assessment procedures, participation and moderation procedures, statistics, and empirical social research. In order to shape our spatial, structural, economic, social and natural environment sustainably, we develop integrated plans of action using financial measures as well as operational, organizational, legal, and informational ones. With urban and transport planning, we focus on the design, dimensioning and impact assessment of structural and operational constructions. We also contribute to making processes of planning and decision-making as transparent and discursive as possible.
